All Stars Weekly Wrap-up – 25 and 27 November 2015

U8 Scooters

newsXpress on westEach week Scooter’s ball skills and passing improve, and last week’s match against Highfields was an excellent example of this.  Two tries were the result of excellent passing between Alex, Charlie and Blake.  All of the boys have continually improved their rucking skills, and Austin, Riley and Jimmy ran the ball forward making good metres.  The boys also need to be congratulated for their attitude and sportsmanship on the field.  They set a high example for all teams!  Well done Scooters.

U10 Great Whites

The team were able to use and create good opportunities from the attack line. Zac ran well, he really sank his teeth into the ball in this game (losing a tooth on the way!) – well done buddy. Daniel worked tirelessly in the centre in both attack and defence best games ever by far. James and Jaiden did their job in defence and keep the attack at bay – good dig boys, centre defence is not the easiest position. Leigh and Matthew ran well to create and provide the scoring opportunities for the team. Looking for a little more supporting running from the group next week, go with the player who has the ball boys.

U12 Malibus

Enwise Electrical and RefigerationThe Malibus played their best game on Friday night! Their rucks were so quick that at times the Referee didn’t have a chance to get back on side! Their defence was tight but if someone did slip through they were ready to chase. Charlotte and Isabelle’s stepping was truly amazing. Kasey and Macey were our reliable wings, they were never drawn in. Natalie and Taya were always there for a quick play while Mia was consistently going up to make the touch. Alexis drew her opponent out forcing gaps. Ashlee and Naomi saw opportunities and with their pace were unstoppable. The girls support for each other was incredible resulting in many tries. If they didn’t score themselves they set a teammate up! Great game girls!

U12 Vipers

Crackerjack ChickenFriday night’s game against Rebels was a tough game. The boy’s defence was a key factor throughout the game, with some great touches. The Team is starting to gel together and there commitment is great, they just keep surprising us each week. The Vipers were well lead by Cameron, Angus and the young under 10 player Eli, who can play anywhere on the field. Sam worked well all night, and Jack, James, and Lachie keep improving each week. I would like to wish Jack all the best for the future as he is leaving us at Christmas.

U12 Angels

All StarsThe U12 Girls Angels continued their great form with a solid performance against Lions.  The girls failed to complete in the first half on a number of occasions but after the break the teamwork really started to show and some great team tries were scored.  Both Izzys had very strong games and Lucy scored a couple of good tries.  Molly and Demi were very creative in attack.  Well done girls on your efforts at training as the results are showing on the field with your improved performances.

U12 Sharks

The U12 Boys Sharks played an improving Lions team who never stopped trying.  Once again the boys scored some amazing team tries with one particular try coming after 10 passes.  Joe proved difficult for the defence using his speed and agility to beat his link on several occasions.  Dougal played strongly in the middle and has recovered from his early season injury.  Mitchell and Nathan showed great confidence playing out of their normal positions.

U14 Marlins (25/11/2015)

All StarsAfter a couple of false starts due to weather this season, the Marlins played the top of the table Rebels this week and  held their own for the majority of the match. Defense was our focus this week at training and up until the last 5 minutes of the game we held the opposition to a 3 all draw. Unfortunately two small lapses in defense late in the game resulted in a close fought loss.

It was an impressive and vastly improved effort this week from the team in defense and with a few small tweaks in attack we will continue to improve our game
